I am thrilled to welcome you to my new online home and grateful you would take even a second of your valuable time to stop by.
After a five-month internet hiatus last year, I cautiously considered what my online involvement would look like moving forward.
With peaceful confirmation I am beginning a new journey in this small space. My hope is simply to share life through the lens that I believe the Lord has impressed upon my heart for many years now: A life poured out is a life filled up.
I am an artist at heart and am constantly captivated by beauty -- beauty in creation, beauty in words, beauty in a peaceful home, beauty in a homemade meal, beauty in stories.
And I'm most captivated by the staggering beauty of love.
Through God's grace and incomprehensible love, I'm offered a new life and new heart.
And because messed-up humans like me are offered this love, we have the chance to turn right around and offer selfless love to a world that desperately needs it.
Humble, selfless love is life-changing. For our spouse, our children, our neighbor, our co-worker, our mailman, the children in foster care in our cities, and the orphan across the world, love is absolutely life-changing and revolutionary.
Categories: A few things you'll find here
Fill Up - For restoring the soul. We must fill up so we can pour out.
Pour Out - One of my favorite quotes reads, "Love's strength stands in love's sacrifice." Sacrifice is difficult. I'm continually trying to grasp what life lived without the gaze fixed on myself looks like. You may see stories here about our days spent with refugees or our work with Love146.
Family - My husband and I are learning as we go with this whole parenting thing. We are deeply moved by its poignant lessons. I hope to give an authentic glimpse into what family is to us by sharing traditions, celebrations, struggles and real life.
Home - The aesthetics of a peaceful home don't require a lot of money. As we've made budget choices over the years, "Home Decor" has not typically made the list. We've learned to piece together gifts, garage sale finds, and Goodwill treasures to create a home that fits us well. I'll share some tips, finds, and projects with you.
Food - While fixing my son his favorite snack one day, he reached up to my arm and said, "Mommy, does your name mean 'love'?" Hearts are reached via the stomach. I love feeding my family and anyone else who happens to be in our home. It's never perfect and I'm not usually a precise recipe follower, but I'll share things that come across our table.
Foster Care & Adoption Journey - We are just embarking and I look forward to sharing the ups and downs with you.
Create - A new painting, an art print, or a project with my kids – you will get a little bit of everything here.
Goodwill Living Shop - Original oil paintings are coming soon. Currently the shop is primarily stocked with Digital Downloads. After purchasing the print the file will be yours to print at home, online, or a print shop. I have more in the works and this shop will be continually updated.
YOU + ME - Head over to this page to read more about using the shop to help you raise money for your adoption or work in poverty relief.
Tomorrow I'm going to tell you a little bit more about the name Goodwill Living.
Embedded in the sidebar on the right you'll find a free hand-painted watercolor printable. I have mine beside my coffee pot. Please feel free to download and use it however you'd like.
Underneath the printable you'll find a place to sign up for the Goodwill Living Letter. If you are interested in receiving blog posts to your inbox, including updates on new shop inventory, let's connect via email.
In the absence of comments on the blog (see the CONNECT page), please say hello via email, twitter or instagram! I can't wait to meet you.
